2 T butter
1 medium onion
1 clove garlic
½ t Italian Seasoning
2- 28oz cans tomatoes (San Marzano if available)
1 ½ c chicken broth
½ c cream
12 fresh basil leaves, chopped
Salt & pepper, to taste
Blend all ingredients in blender, except cream. Add to pot & heat on stove on medium heat. Let simmer 10 minutes. Add cream & serve.
Serve with The Perfect Grilled Cheese sandwich.
